Aboriginal Air Services increase access to the Real Outback!
Aboriginal Air is Australia’s largest outback airline, servicing 37 airports and supplying Aboriginal communities throughout the Northern Territory, South Australia and Western Australia. Flights depart from Alice Springs and Darwin and service towns like Katherine and Tennant Creek as well as remote communities famous for Aboriginal desert art. Aboriginal Air Services will start scheduled flights from Alice Springs to Uluru in March 2006 departing Alice Springs for Uluru at 8am each Monday, Wednesday and Friday and returning on the same day at 4pm.

New Camping in Kakadu!
Hawk Dreaming, a new permanent camp located on the Aboriginal lands of Kakadu National Park, will open its doors in May 2006. Exclusive permission to camp on the Hawk Dreaming lands has been negotiated with the traditional custodians and Aussie Adventure Holidays. Exclusive access means travelers can experience a wide range of environments at ideal times of the day for a true appreciation of Kakadu National Park and its ancient aboriginal history.
The camp, owned and operated by Aussie Adventure Holidays and the Djabulukgu Association, will accommodate up to sixteen people in eight permanent bungalow tents with powered ceiling fans, lights, real beds and linens. Additional features include a kitchen, dining tent, modern bathroom facilities and a beautiful pool perfect for relaxing in after a day wandering the wilderness!

Sounds of Silence concept expands to Alice Springs
Think “Sounds of Silence” in a whole new setting! The Milky Way Café has recently opened its doors in Alice Springs. Guests will enjoy coffee and cake whilst an experienced astronomer takes them on a spiritual journey into the night sky.This award-winning presentation brings together scientific facts, practical knowledge and the dreamtime stories of local aboriginal communities. Guests learn how to find true south using the Southern Cross, and they will also identify planets, the Zodiac signs and other constellations. Following the presentation guests can browse the Seven Sisters Gallery that houses sky inspired western and Aboriginal art. This is a unique experience that should not be missed!
